Michael J. Kline, CPA, MST
Partner
Michael J. Kline, CPA, MST, joined Citrin Cooperman as a partner in August 2010 as a partner of the firm’s Philadelphia office. He has 24 years' experience, including seven with the Big 4 accounting firm Deloitte & Touche.
As one of the leaders with the tax services group, Michael is responsible for client service and quality control, and consults with clients on issues including ownership structure, entity decisions, multi-state tax and succession planning. He has a great deal of experience working with corporate and individual tax issues, as well as those relating to partnerships.
Michael’s expertise focuses on the real estate and closely-held businesses, among others. Michael represents clients in front of the IRS as well as state and local government agencies such as the Pennsylvania Board of Appeals, Pennsylvania Board of Finance and Revenue, and Philadelphia Tax Review Board.
Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants – Tax Division, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past board member of the Rachel Aerin White Foundation and the former treasurer for the Point Breeze Performing Arts Center. Michael graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Accounting from Drexel University in 1986, and earned a master’s degree in taxation from Villanova University in 1991.
Michael serves as an adjunct professor at Drexel University, teaching classes on individual and business income taxes.
