Michael Criscione is an audit partner in Citrin Cooperman’s Rhode Island office. He specializes in audit and business advisory solutions for healthcare entities such as home health agencies, hospices, long-term care and assisted living facilities, community health centers, and health and human service providers. Michael has over 25 years of Medicare/Medicaid experience, including assistance with the preparation of third-party cost reports, benchmarking reports, and financial analysis.
Previously, Michael was an audit partner at LGC+D, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2016. At LGC+D, Michael was the leader of the firm’s Health Services segment, which served health care and not-for-profit clients.
Michael works extensively with owners, operators and boards of directors regarding the financial aspects of their businesses including third-party reimbursement, appeals for rate adjustments, compliance related matters, operating budgets, development of reimbursement strategies and systems, negotiations/discussions with federal and state agencies.
Michael is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants (RISCPA), the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). In addition to his professional memberships, he is the treasurer and a board member of Opportunities Unlimited for People with Differing Abilities and the Rhode Island Assisted Living Association. He is also active with the Rhode Island Partnership for Home Care, Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts, Inc., and the Connecticut Association for Healthcare at Home.

Michael earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant College and is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island’s Class of 2010. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Rhode Island.
