Michael A. Tolla is a tax partner with more than 35 years of diversified accounting, auditing, taxation, and business consulting experience. He advises high net worth individuals, family partnerships, trusts, and closely held businesses in a diverse range of industries, including law firms, service providers, import/export transportation, equipment leasing, telecommunications, construction, real estate, wholesale, manufacturing, retail, health care, and entertainment.
Previously, Mike was a director at Schwartz & Hofflich, LLP, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2010. He also served as a partner at a national accounting firm.
With a specialized focus in problem-solving, Mike is highly skilled in analyzing internal controls and budgets to improve efficiency and profitability, developing exit strategies for business owners including succession planning, and designing compensation plans for key employees. He also guides clients through the tax complexities associated with entity structuring, acquisitions, and financing.
For retirement planning, Mike advises on 401(k) plans, SEP plans, Keogh plans, profit sharing plans, and defined benefit plans.

Mike has been a featured speaker for the firm’s Driving Your Business series, addressing various business topics. His articles have been published in the Westchester County Business Journal and the Fairfield County Business Journal.
Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA). He is active in the Norwalk business community as an ambassador for the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and through the Interact Networking Club.

Mike earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Iona College. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the States of Connecticut and New York.
