[Mary Sheridan] As partner-in-charge of tax operations for the firm's New York City office, as well as the U.S. co-leader of the affiliate office in India, my role is to build the processes necessary to ensure that Citrin Cooperman's tax functions are being scheduled timely, serviced by appropriately trained staff levels, and that nothing falls through the cracks. We have around 18,000 tax returns that come through the New York and India offices each year, which requires a huge amount of organization, with no room for mistakes. Additionally, I am one of the firm’s tax quality control partners, a member of the firm’s Federal Tax Policy Committee, and the tax team leader for firm-related due diligence assignments.
[Mary Sheridan] I am a big believer in challenging our personnel with assignments that are appropriate for their level and years of experience by working with each person to help them achieve their goals. My goal is to achieve win-win results when troubleshooting problems and help grow the future leaders of the tax department.
[Mary Sheridan] The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is a classic that continues to be relevant today. I also enjoy fictional books by John Grisham, James Patterson, and Dan Brown to name a few.
[Mary Sheridan] Spending time with my husband, Sean, and our dog, Charley. We like to travel (at least annually to Aruba), socialize with family and friends, and take our dog to the dog park.
