The group was previously led by Partner Gary Karlitz, who will remain with the group in a consultative role.

“Our Litigation and Dispute Advisory Services group has been a rapidly-growing practice area for the firm since 2001, thanks in large part to Gary Karlitz’ exceptional work in building the practice,” said Joel Cooperman, CEO of Citrin Cooperman. “Colleen Vallen is extremely qualified to now be leading the charge, not only due to her impressive track record as an expert in the field, but also because of her exemplary leadership style and enthusiasm for growing the practice. I’m thrilled to have Colleen transition into a leadership role at the firm.”

Citrin Cooperman’s Litigation and Dispute Advisory Services is part of the larger Transaction Specialty Solutions, an advisory practice which also includes Transaction Advisory Services, led by Partner Sylvie Gadant, and Valuation Advisory Services, led by Principal Mandeep Trivedi. The leaders of all three niche areas work with business leaders and their team to devise strategies and actions to help navigate the intricacies and complexities of contemplated transactions and litigations.

“I’m proud to have been chosen to lead the Litigation and Dispute Advisory Services group at Citrin Cooperman,” said Vallen. “The practice has grown substantially over the last few years, with the firm’s unwavering commitment to invest in the resources and human capital required to best serve our clients. Having worked closely with Gary for many years, I’m confident the transition will be seamless, for both our staff and our clients. I’m looking forward to continuing the practice group’s tradition of excellent client service as we usher in the next phase of growth.”

Vallen has provided forensic accounting and litigation services for cases involving economic damages and lost profits, business interruption, and fraud and forensic investigations.
