NYS Real Estate Alert: Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) for Residential Tenants

Beginning June 1, 2021, New York State began accepting applications for its Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), which can make direct payments to property owners on behalf of low- and middle-income residential tenants for up to 12 months of rental arrears payments and, for certain tenants, up to 3 months of additional rental assistance.
