Alex is a managing director in Citrin Cooperman’s National Assurance Office and is the Audit Quality Control Chair of Real Estate. Alex is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in audit and accounting. In addition to his focus in real estate, Alex has experience working with clients in a broad range of industries including restaurants and hospitality, financial services, banking, construction, manufacturing and distribution, technology, entertainment and sports, and technology.

Alex has extensive knowledge in performing audits in accordance with Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) standards for medium- to large-sized businesses. He has worked with SEC and non-SEC clients to achieve and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, improve internal controls, and reduce financial and operational risk. Alex is adept at adding value to clients during times of change, including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, private placement offerings, SPAC and De-SPAC transactions, debt restructuring, and a changing legal landscape impacting accounting and auditing practices. Additionally, Alex has demonstrated leadership skills that guide his engagement teams to successfully achieve auditing goals and enable clients to achieve business goals. At Citrin Cooperman, he will work with the firm's Audit and Attest Practice to ensure the quality of audit engagements.

Having started his career with more than a decade of experience in the Big Four, prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Alex served in national office and quality control roles and also led multiple audit engagement teams as the lead director and assurance senior manager across Big Four and top 10 national accounting firms. Alex also oversaw audits of international engagements with global member firms that required audits under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
