Avi is a managing director and head of software development at Citrin Cooperman. He is an experienced technology executive with more than 25 years of experience leading software engineering organizations, technology transformation, and the development of enterprise platforms. Throughout his career, he has focused on aligning technology strategy with business objectives, building high-performing teams, and delivering scalable solutions that drive growth, operational efficiency, and an improved customer experience.
Avi’s expertise spans software engineering, enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation, software development lifecycle (SDLC) modernization, cybersecurity and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) integration. He has led technology organizations through significant periods of growth and transformation, modernized complex enterprise platforms, and implemented technology and automation initiatives that have delivered measurable business results.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Avi served as director of business services and compliance at a SaaS tech company, where he led strategic business, regulatory, security, and compliance initiatives, including efforts supporting the company’s expansion into international markets.
Previously, Avi was senior director of engineering at an agentic AI leader in global tax and compliance. where he served as managing director of information technology. During his tenure, he built and scaled the technology organization and led the development of enterprise platforms that supported significant business growth. Avi led the technology due diligence for the company’s acquisition and following the transaction, continued to lead the Business Licenses technology organization while driving the modernization and integration of its applications, architecture, and development practices into their broader technology ecosystem. His work focused on preserving proven business capabilities while modernizing the underlying technology, strengthening engineering practices, and positioning the platforms for continued scale and growth.
Earlier in his career, Avi spent more than eight years at a wealth management firm, where he served in senior technology leadership roles and led the design and development of enterprise platforms supporting complex financial services operations. Prior, he held technology leadership roles at a financial services company.

Avi is actively involved in charitable causes and, through his fundraising efforts, has raised more than $115,000 to support families with children battling cancer. He enjoys staying active and has completed more than 13 half marathons, including races in Miami, FL and Las Vegas, NV, and captained his softball team for more than a decade, winning two league championships.
Avi also enjoys travel and adventure, including cage diving with sharks in the Pacific, swimming with dolphins in the Atlantic, and snorkeling in the Caribbean. An avid New York sports fan, he enjoys cheering on the Yankees, Giants, and Knicks, but most of all, spending time with his wife, five children, and grandchildren.
