Experience

Nigel is a director of business development at Citrin Cooperman helping public companies and organizations on digital transformation initiatives using the Workiva platform. A CPA with more than 20 years of experience spanning both industry and consulting, Nigel focuses on reporting automation across all industries, public and private, including the alternative investments sector where he has served a number of stakeholders across complex fund structures and reporting use cases.

Nigel sees reporting challenges through a unique lens, drawing on more than a decade of experience leading reporting functions. He was a vice president at a publicly traded REIT where he led a large finance team and implemented Workiva for the company’s external disclosures. Previously, as managing director and corporate controller at a publicly traded investment firm, he directed financial reporting and controls across global subsidiaries — implementing Workiva there as well. That practitioner experience grounds his work in how reporting actually gets done.

Prior to Citrin Cooperman, Nigel led the North America integrated reporting practice at a technology consulting firm and served as practice director for Workiva at a digital finance consulting firm. Before that, he founded his own Workiva partner firm, which he led as the CEO for nearly five years until its acquisition in 2022. Across these roles he has owned the full commercial lifecycle alongside senior-level alliance management with Workiva. Earlier in his career, Nigel held senior finance roles at a global investment and corporate banking firm.
