Experience

Joe is a director with over 25 years of public and private experience providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to businesses and individuals. He specializes in providing services to the automotive dealerships industry, as well as tax consulting and compliance for high net worth individuals.

Joe provides a variety of tax-related services, consults with clients on general accounting matters, business acquisitions, and dispositions, and provides internal control advice. He has represented clients regarding federal and state tax audits over his many years in public accounting.

Prior to his current employment at Citrin Cooperman, Joe worked as a chief financial officer (CFO) for a private company that operated two successful automobile dealerships. He assisted the dealer principal with the overall management of the dealership operations. He was solely responsible for the management of the accounting operations which included the overall supervision of the accounting staff. Joe was instrumental in helping coordinate the eventual sale of the company.

He gained his vast experience by working at several public accounting firms. Some notable work experience in the early stages of his public accounting career included an in-charge accounting role in servicing a very large newspaper group. Currently, as part of the Automotive Dealerships Industry Practice, he services the larger automotive groups and participates in industry thought leadership pieces.
