Experience

Rita Pierre is an audit partner with more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and auditing. Rita specializes in guiding real estate and professional service organizations. Named one of the top 50 women in the industry by the Association of Real Estate Women, Rita works closely with developers, owners, investors, and REITs. She has particular experience in preparing, analyzing, and auditing special purpose financial statements relating to mortgages and other financing agreements, sales and acquisitions, certiorari filings, rent escalation clauses of leases, and cash flow allocations.

Rita advises a wide variety of clients on internal controls and on the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. In addition to identifying control weaknesses, areas of noncompliance, and risk exposure, she recommends ways to improve accounting controls and reduce risk.

She analyzes the financial aspects of partnership agreements including capital requirements, capital payouts, and profit and loss allocations for her professional services clients.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Rita was a partner at Berdon LLP, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2023.
