501(c)(3) organizations must file IRS Form 990 each year, and board members have a fiduciary duty to review the 990 before it is filed. Do your board members understand this important duty – and know what they should be looking for?

This important webinar will provide a basic understanding of the Form 990, as well as a discussion of the board members’ duties and the legal implications of the 990. Pro Bono Partnership lawyers will present on the legal duties of the Board; and tax professionals from Citrin Cooperman will take attendees through an understanding of the financial information on the 990. The “setting” for the webinar will be a board meeting, where accountants are presenting to the Board on a 990 before it is filed. Questions from webinar attendees (as the “board members”) are welcome.
