David Roath is a partner in the firm's New York City office and leader of the Technology and Risk Advisory Consulting (TRAC) Practice. He has over 30 years of extensive experience in professional services including advisory, risk, internal and external audit, compliance, technology risk, and cybersecurity and privacy within both financial and non-financial services.

Experience

Dave has transformed his client’s cybersecurity and privacy environments, helping assess, build, and transform their cybersecurity and privacy programs, and has provided strategic oversight in enhancing his client’s IT risk and security capabilities. Dave has experience managing major global internal operational and IT audit outsourcing and co-sourcing engagements with a focus on IT governance, security and privacy, framework compliance, IT general computing and operational controls, application reviews, disaster recovery, SDLC, vendor management, application security, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX). He has worked with a broad variety of large and small financial institutions including banking and capital markets, asset management, insurance companies, and other non-financial services sector clients. Dave also has extensive knowledge performing advisory and assurance services to numerous firms.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Dave was CEO at Accume Partners, a trusted advisor that assists clients by delivering integrated, risk, regulatory, and cybersecurity solutions. He also has 27 years of experience working at a Big 4 firm providing internal and external audits, IT risk, and cybersecurity solutions to organizations to help protect their reputation, and led their IT Risk and Security Practice nationally. He has assisted clients to assess, remediate, and build their controls infrastructure. Dave has led multiple engagement teams, including third party assurance related to various frameworks and managed Sarbanes-Oxley control testing. He has presented to over 50 audit committees, boards, and C-suites, worked with various sector regulators on specific audits, and the FBI on various initiatives.
