Mark Kaplan is a partner in Citrin Cooperman’s Beverly Hills, CA office. He has nearly 40 years of accounting experience, specializing in business management and tax planning for entertainment industry artists and their companies. As co-practice leader of the firm's music group, he works with many artists from around the world advising in the areas of touring, taxation, and general business.
Mark has extensive experience in business management, specializing in the music industry, for over 37 years. He works with individuals and groups in both the music and film and TV areas, including domestic and international artists and their cross border issues.
Mark has strong experience in the areas of live touring, artist and publishing royalties, U.S., and international taxation, as well as demonstrated success in bringing order to chaos for long established artists. His team provides strong assistance in all areas of business management including asset purchases, insurance issues, and overall business guidance.
Mark established his own firm in 1996, which merged into Mejia & Kaplan in 2006. Mejia & Kaplan joined Citrin Cooperman in 2019. Earlier in his career, Mark was a personal manager helping the B-52’s “Love Shack” comeback. This invaluable experience give him strong insight to bring to his clients’ businesses.
