Experience

Mike is the firm's managing partner of markets and regions at Citrin Cooperman where he oversees the firm's geographic operations for its traditional accounting service offerings with a particular focus on growth, expansion and on overall P&L management. Mike is also an attest partner with approximately 30 years of public accounting experience performing and managing audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and the standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). He has primarily served middle-market companies in a wide variety of industries with a particular focus in manufacturing and distribution, shipping and logistics, aerospace and defense, government contracting, food and beverage, and printing and publishing.

Throughout his career, Mike has served companies with a variety of ownership structures including both larger and smaller publicly held companies, middle-market privately held business, private family-owned businesses, and private equity-backed companies and he understands the unique accounting, auditing, and business aspects associated with each structure. He has extensive experience with acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising activities, debt, and other restructuring activities, as well as other complex financial reporting issues.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman in 2015, Mike spent 17 years at a global accounting firm, the last seven of which were as a partner in both its New York City and Melville, NY offices. In addition to serving both public and private clients as the lead audit partner, Mike spent two years as the co-audit practice leader and two years as the lead professional standards partner for the New York offices.
