Harry Carpenter is a partner and cannabis advisory services practice co-leader based in the firm’s Livingston, New Jersey office, with over 20 years of experience. He specializes in audits, reviews, compilations, and consultation on general accounting, business strategy, operations, budgeting, and internal controls. He also provides litigation support and forensic accounting services.
Harry is a CPA, providing a wide variety of accounting, audit, and consulting services to private clients in a number of specialized industries, including the emerging cannabis industry, manufacturing and distribution, staffing, real estate, construction, architecture and engineering, and life sciences. Harry specializes in audits, reviews, compilations, and consultation on general accounting, business strategy, operations, budgeting and forecasts, and internal controls. Harry was recognized on both the 2020 and 2021 NJBIZ "Power 50" Accounting lists, which highlights individuals who make important contributions to the New Jersey business community. He was also named one of New Jersey’s “Top 24” CPAs in the state, in the NJBIZ Inaugural Vanguard series, published in February 2019.
Harry serves as the New Jersey Practice Leader and Co-Chairman for the firm’s Cannabis Advisory Services Practice. Due to his specialized knowledge in cannabis industry-related business issues, he has been a featured speaker and panelist at some of the industry’s foremost events. Additionally, Harry is one of the co-leaders and co-founders of the firm's Rainmakers Program and participates significantly on the firm’s Scholarship, Campus Recruiting, Staffing, and various other firm committees and initiatives.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman in 2012, Harry served as audit senior manager at a Big 4 accounting firm supervising approximately 25 staff annually on audits, reviews, and special projects. While at this firm, Harry was the senior manager in charge of the firm’s New Jersey Summer Mentor Program, chairman of the Social and Networking Committee, a counselor and a mentor to junior-level staff, an employee training facilitator, and lead ambassador for community service.
